<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The <strong>General Ledger (G/L) Process in SAP</strong> is a key part of the <strong>Financial Accounting (FI)</strong> module. It handles all accounting data for an organization and serves as the central repository for financial transactions.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Here’s a detailed overview of the <strong>General Ledger Process in SAP</strong>:</p>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">ð¹ 1. <strong>Master Data Setup</strong></h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Before any transactions can be posted, master data must be configured:</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>G/L Account Master Data</strong>:
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Created via <code>FS00</code>, <code>FSP0</code>, or <code>FSS0</code> (depending on whether it&#8217;s chart of accounts or company code-specific).</li>

<li>Contains control data (e.g., account group, currency, open item management).</li>
</ul>
</li>

<li><strong>Company Code</strong>:
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Defines the legal entity for which G/Ls are maintained.</li>
</ul>
</li>

<li><strong>Chart of Accounts</strong>:
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>A structured list of all G/L accounts used by one or more company codes.</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">ð¹ 2. <strong>Posting Financial Transactions</strong></h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Transactions are posted to the G/L using various document entry screens:</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>T-Codes</strong>:
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><code>FB50</code>: General Ledger Posting (single-screen)</li>

<li><code>F-02</code>: General Posting</li>

<li><code>FB01</code>: Post Document</li>
</ul>
</li>

<li>Each document includes:
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Document header (posting date, document type, reference)</li>

<li>Line items (G/L account, debit/credit amount, cost center, etc.)</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">ð¹ 3. <strong>Document Control &; Posting Logic</strong></h3>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Document Types</strong> (e.g., SA – G/L account document, KR – Vendor invoice)</li>

<li><strong>Posting Keys</strong> (e.g., 40 for Debit, 50 for Credit)</li>

<li><strong>Automatic Account Determination</strong> can be set up for integration with other modules like MM and SD.</li>
</ul>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">ð¹ 4. <strong>Periodic Activities</strong></h3>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Park &; Post</strong>:
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><code>FV50</code>, <code>FV60</code>, etc., allow users to park documents for review before final posting.</li>
</ul>
</li>

<li><strong>Recurring Entries</strong>:
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>For regular transactions, set via <code>FBD1</code>.</li>
</ul>
</li>

<li><strong>Accruals and Deferrals</strong>:
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Managed via transaction codes like <code>FBS1</code> and reversed using <code>F.81</code>.</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>

<hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity"/>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">ð¹ 5. <strong>Integration with Other Modules</strong></h3>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">ð¹ 6. <strong>Reporting</strong></h3>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
