CA STUDY NOTES
The story of Aditya, Rajan, and Smriti—three friends from Bihar preparing for the CA exams in Delhi—is one of resilience, tradition, and the pursuit of positivity. They had all set their sights on becoming Chartered Accountants, hoping to create a future filled with security and respect, but the journey was proving to be challenging. Each had recently received their exam results, and they weren’t what they had hoped for. The negative outcome left them disheartened, and a dark cloud seemed to hang over their dreams.

Their lives in Delhi, filled with books, classes, and long nights of study, had come to feel dreary. It was as though the failure had sapped their energy, and they began to doubt themselves. Every page of their study material felt heavier, every practice test more intimidating. They knew they needed a break but didn’t know how to recharge their spirits until Aditya, the most rooted in his cultural traditions, suggested, “Why don’t we go home for Chhath Puja? It’s been too long since we felt that energy.”
Rajan and Smriti agreed, and they packed their bags for the journey back to Bihar. As the train carried them across the fields and rivers of the countryside, they started to feel a sense of relief.

They watched as the golden sun rose over the landscape, casting light over the paddy fields, and their hearts began to feel lighter. Aditya reminded them, “Chhath Puja is about thanking the Sun God for sustaining us. It’s a time to absorb his energy, his strength. If we need positivity, where better to find it than during Chhath?”

When they arrived in Bihar, their families welcomed them warmly. The preparations for Chhath Puja were already underway, with everyone bustling about, arranging fruits, sweets, and decorations. The friends volunteered to help with the work, gathering fruits and arranging offerings. They helped their families prepare thekua and arrange baskets filled with fruits, sweets, and other offerings for the Sun God. The simple acts of cleaning, cooking, and preparing for the puja filled them with a renewed sense of purpose.

On the day of the main puja, as the sun began to set, the entire community gathered by the riverbank, dressed in vibrant clothes and holding baskets high, offering thanks to the setting sun. The friends joined hands with their families and dipped their feet into the cold water, feeling the collective devotion of everyone around them. As they watched the sun dip below the horizon, they were filled with a new sense of warmth and determination.

Standing there, they remembered the countless hours they had put into their studies and realized that every setback was just a step toward their goal. Aditya said, “Look at the sun—every day, it sets, only to rise again. We have to be like that, too. This exam is just one chapter, and if we keep going, we will rise, just like the sun.”

The next morning, they rose before dawn to complete the final prayers. The riverbank was filled with people holding their baskets high and singing songs of devotion. As the first light of the sun touched the water, they felt its warmth radiate through them. It was a pure, powerful energy that seemed to burn away all the darkness of doubt in their hearts. Standing there in the glow of the new day, they made a promise to themselves and each other that they wouldn’t give up.
When they returned to Delhi, they carried the sun’s energy within them. Their minds were clearer, and their hearts were stronger. They started their studies again with renewed determination, and every time they faced a difficult problem, they remembered the sunrise over the river, the warmth of the sunlight, and the strength they had drawn from their community and their tradition.

For Aditya, Rajan, and Smriti, Chhath Puja had become more than just a festival. It was a reminder that, just like the sun, they had the power to rise again after every setback, no matter how dark the night had been. In their hearts, they carried the warmth of that sunrise, lighting their path toward success.
